Spring View Hospital Launches “I Just Delivered” Program Designed to Improve Postpartum Health
October 23, 2024
Spring View Hospital Women’s Center is proud to introduce a new postpartum bracelet program designed to enhance care for new mothers during the critical weeks following childbirth. This initiative provides bracelets to newly delivered mothers to wear for six weeks after delivery, serving as a vital alert to emergency room doctors and healthcare providers that their health concerns may be related to their recent pregnancy.
The postpartum period can be a vulnerable time, with potential complications such as infections, blood clots, and other serious conditions requiring immediate and specialized care. Recognizing these risks, Spring View Hospital’s Women’s Center has implemented the postpartum bracelet program to ensure that any postpartum complications are quickly identified and addressed, providing continuous and comprehensive care.
“We recognize that the postpartum period is a critical and delicate time for new mothers,” said Melissa Cull, MSN, RN, CBC, C-EFM, Director of Women's Services at Spring View Hospital. “The postpartum bracelet program is a vital part of ensuring ongoing, comprehensive care, helping our emergency medical team promptly identify and address any potential obstetric concerns.”
New mothers will receive a blue “I Just Delivered” bracelet upon discharge from the hospital. This visual cue helps emergency medical services personnel and clinicians quickly assess and prioritize care, minimizing delays that could arise from a lack of immediate context about the patient’s recent obstetric history.
Reba Celsor, Reba Celsor, RN, MBA, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer of Spring View Hospital, stated, “By encouraging people to give extra care and attention to the new mothers in their lives, we can significantly enhance postpartum care in our community. We’re proud to offer this program to our patients as part of our commitment to making our communities healthier.”
This initiative is part of Spring View Hospital Women’s Center’s dedication to patient-centered care and its ongoing efforts to enhance maternal health services in the community. By increasing awareness and ensuring prompt medical attention, Spring View Hospital aims to improve the quality of postpartum care and support the health and well-being of new mothers during this sensitive time.
