Spring View Hospital Names 2025 Mercy Award Winner
May 22, 2025
Spring View Hospital recently announced that Charles Neal, Certified Pharmacy Tech (CPhT), has been recognized as the facility’s 2025 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of Lifepoint Health’s facilities who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.
Established in 2001, the Mercy Award is an annual recognition program that honors the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, Lifepoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a Lifepoint employee can receive.
“At Spring View Hospital, our caring and compassionate team members are at the heart of advancing our mission of making communities healthier – and Charles Neal is a shining example of this day in and day out,” said Bruce Tassin, interim CEO of Spring View Hospital. “We are so proud to recognize his many contributions to caring for patients, supporting our hospital, and serving our community. I’m grateful for Charles’ positive influence and the example he sets for all of us.”
Charles is recognized as a team member demonstrating exceptional reliability and commitment to patient care. His willingness to step in during staffing shortages highlights his dedication to the pharmacy team and patient safety. Beyond his professional role, Charles significantly impacts the spiritual health of Marion County through his involvement with Bethel Star Apostolic Church, where he serves as an Elder, teaches Sunday school, and advocates for at-risk youth. He actively mentors young individuals and conducts a bi-weekly ministry for adults at the detention center, touching lives across generations and fostering a sense of community.
Each facility winner, including Charles, will be considered for Lifepoint’s 2025 companywide Mercy Award. The companywide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, Tenn., in August.
